What the Editions Are
Active Matter editions are the purchasable versions of the game: there are currently Standard, Advanced, and Deluxe editions available for purchase, and they differ in their starting selection of weapons, equipment, and in-game resources — otherwise, the content available to buyers is identical.
You can buy them on PC through Gaijin Store and Steam, as well as on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Active Matter is sold in several editions, with the standard one priced at 29.99 USD/Euro in relevant regions.
A naming note for older mentions: the previously available Premium Edition has been replaced by the more expensive and upgraded Deluxe Edition, which is what all Premium owners will receive.

One store-specific bonus sits outside the table: the Deluxe Edition on Steam also includes a digital soundtrack.
How to Buy, Upgrade, or Claim an Edition
- Pick the tier whose starting kit from the table above suits you, then get the digital edition and start playing right now.
- You can treat the choice as open-ended: Standard and Advanced editions can be upgraded up to Deluxe, and Standard, Advanced, and Deluxe editions can be upgraded up to Elite Squad.
- When you want to move up, you can upgrade your edition yourself in the Gaijin Store — that route also works if a friend purchased the Elite Squad Edition and gave you a Standard Edition.
- If you purchased the early version of Active Matter through Gaijin Store, you will receive free access to the game on your Steam account — an offer that opened ahead of the Steam release.
- Go to the dedicated claiming page and sign in with the Gaijin account you used to purchase Active Matter.
- Complete the link between your Gaijin and Steam accounts by November 23, 2026, since the offer window runs for 90 days from the announcement.
- Check the Gaijin account first: if the account you used to play the launcher version is already linked to a Steam account through one of the publisher's other games, you must use that same Steam account, because with a different Steam account your progress will not be transferred.
- Your Steam edition will match your Gaijin Store purchase: Elite Squad Edition owners receive the Steam version with the same bonuses but without the additional keys, while friends who redeemed their bonus keys receive the Standard Edition.
- From September 15, the day the game launches, you can play the Steam version, and once your accounts are linked you will only be able to upgrade your edition through the Steam Store.
